The Best Workouts To Do On The Beach
Well the summer is here, and we all go to the beach. I can’t wait to pack up my things and run away to some new place, this year, and to discover new places. When it comes to the summer, we always complain about how to make time to workout, or how to include workout when we’re on a holiday.
I got for you the best exercises to perform when you are on the beach. Actually, you will be amazed by the fact that some exercises are better if they are done on the beach, than indoor. You can get better results if they are done on the sand. So, I made for you a collection of a few different exercises, and activities, that you can perform there and have amazing results. So let’s get started with the best beach workouts ever.
Run
Well, the best workout that you can perform on the beach is definitely running. Running on the sand burs more calories than running on regular track. Do a 20 minutes run on the beach and you’ll make your workout count for sure.
Lunges
Lunges are one of my favorite exercise. It gives such a nice tone to the thighs, a lift to the butt and really nice touch to the legs. Do 4 series of lunges, with about 15 reps. Do them walking on the beach, not in one place because the sand isn’t perfectly leveled, you’ll inevitably land on the inside or outside of your front foot. To keep yourself from keeling over, you’ll activate the muscles in your entire lower body. You’ll be surprised how much you feel it.
Plank
This also is one of the best exercises you can preform to the beach. Even better you can do varieties of plank exercises so that you get more results. For example, the forearm to hand plank workout is one great exercise for the beach. Here’s how it works:
As you are in a plank position, keep the body as tight and flat as possible. Move from resting on the forearms to resting on the hands. Keep it for a few seconds and then, move back down to the forearms.
Side Squats
Do 4 series of side squats, 15 reps or more. They will tone up your legs perfectly! Squats are possibly the best bum-toning exercise you can do, so why not perform it while on the beach. You can do regular squats too, if you like them better. Either way, these are one of the best exercises not only for the legs, but for the whole body too.
Beach Volleyball
The more you work with the ball, the stronger these muscles become. It is possible to get a pretty good workout with just the ball and your own body weight, and doing crunches and reverse crunches using one will do more for the abs than working out on the floor.
Swim
Yes I know this is not a beach workout, but this is one of the best activities of all time, so I had to mention it. If you are on a summer vacation, and there is a sea, or a lake, or a pool, don’t forget to swim. It’s nice to have some sort of activity in order to stay fit and stay in shape, and swimming is the best cardio, remember?!
