Study up on the company: check. Put together your best power outfit: done. Perfect your portfolio: nailed it. You've done all the standard job interview prep, but new research shows there's one more thing to do that'll reap major rewards.
Pump up the right jams before a job interview, or even a tough workout. A recent study in Social Psychological and Personality Science revealed that people felt more powerful after listening to bass-heavy songs (think Queen's "We Will Rock You") as opposed to other fast-paced tracks. The tunes convey a sense of strength, which people tend to internalize, says lead researcher Dennis Hsu, Ph.D. He recommends queuing up your playlist immediately before or during a challenging task (OK, maybe not in the middle of an interview). Download our make-it-happen soundtrack below, then go knock their socks off.
